Paxillus cuprinus : Coppery Pax Roll Rim Mushroom
The Coppery Pax Mushroom is a relatively new species of fungi classified by researchers, and I apologize if my classification is wrong (will correct over time these charts) In fact, there are even closer related species in the Paxillus genus that haven't even been discovered completely yet! It's related cousin, once considered edible for hundreds of years, the Brown Roll Rim, was only known to cause upset stomachs, digestive issues, and nausea if eaten raw. However, in 1944, German mycologist Julius Schaffer died from what seems to be autoimmune hemolysis.

Species : Paxillus cuprinus : Coppery Pax (very similar to Brown Roll Rim)
Where to Find This Mushroom in the Wild?
Same locations as Paxillus involutus. Have been reading reports saying this may be European only, however, these varied too much Brown Roll Rim in my opinion. further reasearch on my end must be done to determine whether these are Paxillus involutus with mutations in the cap primarily.
These are more common to find with Birch trees also.

Description of the Mushroom
Cap: Depressed :( and rolls into the bottom side of the cap // hence Roll Rim

Hymenium: Decurrent and anastomose
Spore Print: Brown
Ecology: mycorrhizal
Edibility: yes and no... New identified species with little research on it yet. Would NOT recommend eating. See Paxillus involutus.
